We live in an apartment complex and I want to block websites like youtube.com etc. Some users hog bandwidth. I have a linksys router wrt54g. I have blocked nntp and telnet and youtube. What else do you recommend? I can block ports, protocols and websites and even keyword blocking. Thanks.
I have an Asus wireless router and I think it is blocking websites by itself because no one has blocked them (that I know of). It was a really cheap router only like $36AUD. Please help ! oh and I can’t access the router configuration page right now as someone has password protected it.
I’ve seen this answer on several questions asked about blocking websites. Can someone tell me how this is done and how it works?
How do you get to your router settings to add words to this filtering list??
This is a quoted answer:
“If you have a router, you can block sites that contain certain words, look for String based URL filtering on your router.”
How to Block a Website using Linksys Router
I have a Belkin wireless router and I have 3 computers running on the network. I want to block certain websites from the router itself so that no one can access those websites. Is this possible. I have searched everywhere on how to do that but still have not found answer. I have also gone into my routers config (192.168.2.1) but i have not not found a option where I can block websites from there.
